Questions

How does MacroTrackr differ from MacroFactor?

MacroFactor is a subscription-only app built around adaptive expenditure coaching, with a manual mode for people who set their own targets. MacroTrackr is open source and free to self-host. It also measures your expenditure and suggests targets, but it shows the full working and only changes a target when you accept it.

Does MacroTrackr adjust my calories like MacroFactor?

It suggests and you decide. Once you have 14 fully logged days and 3 weigh-ins in the last 3 weeks, MacroTrackr measures your expenditure from your intake and smoothed weight trend. It can then suggest a weekly target with the sum shown, for example measured 2,350 minus 440 for losing 0.5% a week. Your target only changes when you choose to use it.

Can I track weekly averages in MacroTrackr?

Yes. MacroTrackr shows weekly averages and a consistency score, so you can judge long-term trends rather than single-day spikes.
